HOW TO BE A GREAT CLINICAL PHYSICAL THERAPIST
I did some local travel physical therapy to learn more about myself and the healthcare industry. I’ve discovered that giving great patient care is not that complex. Below are (3) things that every patient can appreciate from a great physical therapist:
- Caring enough about you to ask the right questions to help you get better.
- Being proactive–versus reactive–by asking questions in order to “think about [the clinician’s] thinking,” instead of asking questions about what you did wrong to make their treatment go bad.
- Getting you better is not always technical. I use the ICF model. Pictures say a million words. Below is an illustration of the ICF-model. You can read more about it here: http://www.apta.org/ICF/
