…And the spine doesn’t need to “crack.” And it’s not only for back pain.
“I thought only chiropractors can move the spine,” said my total hip replacement patient as she was laying on her side on the treatment table. Her walking was not normal and did a lot of limping despite having no total hip precautions. After assessing the movement of her spine, she was limited moving in one direction and it needed fixing to help with her hobbling gait. After fixing her lumbar spine, we followed it up with 15 minutes of principled exercises and she was no longer limping.
For the patient that needed it the most, I was so disappointed by the lack of patient education that most consumers have about what physical therapy can do for them and how it can help him/her reach personal goals.
